Supporting positive change through hypnotherapy

The Hypnosis Company offers clinical hypnotherapy, NLP, and psychotherapy in a safe and supportive environment. For nearly 20 years, I’ve worked with people to explore practical strategies for challenges such as stress, sleep, habits, confidence and lifestyle changes.

Who The Hypnosis Company helps

Everyone has their own reasons for exploring hypnotherapy. For some, it’s about finding a calmer way to deal with stress or worry. Others are looking to make changes in habits or behaviours that no longer feel helpful. You might be hoping for better sleep, more contentment in daily life, or support with relationships and communication.

Experience professional support no matter where you are

You don’t need to be in Sydney to access support from The Hypnosis Company. Many clients choose online sessions because they’re convenient, flexible, and can be attended from the comfort of their own homes.

Remote hypnotherapy follows the same structured process as in-person sessions. All you need is a quiet space, a reliable internet connection, and a device with audio and video.

Online options may be helpful if:

Both online and in-person sessions provide a professional setting where you can reflect, learn, and work toward change at your own pace.

What brings people to The Hypnosis Company

Hypnotherapy can be used to explore things like phobias, food and weight concerns, or even long-standing patterns that feel hard to shift. Whatever the reason, our sessions provide a supportive space to pause, reflect, and try new approaches with guidance along the way.

What our clients have to say

Meet Tim Thornton

Since 2006, I’ve been working with people who are ready to make changes in their lives. Over the years, I’ve seen that most of us carry patterns, whether that’s habits, beliefs, or ways of coping that once served us, but eventually hold us back. My work is about creating a safe space to look at those patterns and explore what might be possible beyond them.

I use a mix of clinical hypnotherapy, NLP, and psychotherapy approaches, along with methods like Family Constellations, Emotional Mind Integration, and Rapid Core Healing. Each of these offers different ways to understand how our past, our families, and our experiences shape the way we show up in the present. Together, we look at what feels stuck and begin to open up new perspectives and possibilities.

I’ve been fortunate to train with some of the world’s leading teachers and to work with thousands of clients over the years. But what matters most to me is meeting each person with respect, curiosity, and care, and walking alongside them as they take steps toward the life they want.

I welcome you to The Hypnosis Company and am excited to help you take the next steps towards positive change.

What you can expect from The Hypnosis Company

Experience that speaks for itself

Since 2006, I’ve worked with people from all walks of life in Sydney and online. This experience has shaped a practical, grounded approach that responds to each person’s needs.

A broad range of therapeutic approaches

No two clients are the same, which is why I draw on a variety of methods, including clinical hypnotherapy, NLP, and psychotherapy. This flexible approach allows us to explore challenges from different angles and find strategies that feel meaningful and relevant to you.

Qualified in Rapid Core Healing techniques

Rapid Core Healing is a modern approach that works with the subconscious mind. It helps move beyond surface struggles to explore deeper patterns, giving clients the chance to create more lasting change than is often possible with talk therapies alone.

Looking beyond the surface

Real change often starts by understanding what sits beneath the patterns we notice day to day. In our work together, we look beyond surface struggles to explore the beliefs, experiences, and protective responses that may be shaping your life.

Ongoing learning and growth

Over the years, I’ve trained with internationally recognised teachers and facilitators, continually building on my knowledge to provide clients with the benefits of both experience and fresh insight.

Step one

Book a time

You can choose to book a session online or arrange a free 20-minute phone consultation. This first step provides an opportunity to ask questions and decide whether hypnotherapy is the right path for you.

Step two

Your first session

In our first session, we’ll take some time to talk about what’s brought you here and the changes you’d like to see. Once you feel comfortable, I’ll guide you into a relaxed, focused state, a natural experience that many people find calming and pleasant.

Step three

Exploring patterns

As we work together, we’ll look at the thoughts, habits, or past experiences that may be shaping your current challenges. Through hypnotherapy and psychotherapy approaches, you’ll have the opportunity to reflect, gain insight, and begin practising new ways of responding.

Step four

Ongoing support

Change is a process, so between sessions you’ll receive resources and strategies you can use in daily life. Follow-up sessions are available in Sydney or online, providing you with continued support as you build on your progress at a pace that suits you.

Frequently asked questions

It’s natural to have questions before starting hypnotherapy. Find answers to some of the most common questions we get at The Hypnosis Company.

We encounter the phenomenon of “trance” almost daily. The hypnotic trance is a natural state of consciousness. We’ve all experienced “everyday trances”, for example, during a long night drive or when we watch a great movie.

There is also an active trance state, like the so-called runner’s high, while jogging or in connection with dance and music. During hypnotherapy, the client is induced into the trance state, which enables the therapist to make direct communication with the subconscious part of the mind.

No, it is quite the opposite! You even gain control, because you can access resources from your subconscious mind in a trance that are otherwise not accessible to you.

No, in hypnosis, you don’t lose consciousness under any circumstances. And the feeling of trance is in no way comparable to fainting. Depending on the depth of trance, it is even possible – and quite desirable in the context of a therapy – that you’re aware of every word being said and feel fully present.

To make lasting changes under hypnosis means teamwork. Only if you are willing to get involved in the hypnosis techniques will we achieve success. I will provide you with various exercises and techniques to practice during and after your hypnotherapy program. This commitment on your part is critical to your success.

In the course of a session, it is of great advantage if you previously as accurate as possible observe the triggers of smoking.

A post-hypnotic suggestion can often persist for years without refreshing its effect. Some behaviour patterns can be reinforced by repeated sessions, while some suggestions only require a refresher after a long time. Experience indicates that for smoking, the behaviour patterns can be eliminated very fast and forever.

While you are in the trance state, you are aware of it, and if specific suggestions are made, for example, “Your body is feeling warm and heavy”, you’ll actually experience the sensations. The experience of trance is relaxing and pleasant, plus the more sessions you have, the deeper you can go!

The Hypnosis Company is based in Sydney and welcomes clients from across Australia and overseas.
